Friars Faceoff
Holy Ghost Prep 3 Deon Prep 1 (Championship)—Chase Logue scored two goals Sunday night as Holy Ghost Prep bested Devon Prep at Ice Line. The Firebirds were declared champions of the inaugural Friars Faceoff after winning all three of their round robin games.
All the scoring came in the first period., Logue opened the scoring with s shorthanded goal 1:31 into the period. Ethan Hillanbrand tied the game for Devon Prep at the 5:20 mark. Chris Marshall delivered the game winner at the 8:17; Logue scored his second goal if the game 60 seconds later.
The Firebirds (11-2) have won five straight.
“It’s always nice to play for something and win trophies,” said Holy Ghost Prep coach John Ritchie. “I think this team is starting to hit its stride abd we’re getting contributions from lots of different players.
“We have a long way to go to get back to where we were last year, but this was a great way to cap off 2025 and gives us a little momentum going into the new year,

Calvert Hall took leads of 2-0 and 4-1 and went on to the win Sunday afternoon. Cooper Donelson scored two goals for the winners and assisted on a third.
Luke Johnson scored both goals for the Friars (7-3).

Purple Puck Tournament
Hun School 4 Gonzaga 1-The Raiders scored four goals in the second half to remain unbeaten in the Purple Puck Tournament.
Anders Van Raalte scored twice for the Raiders (7-3). Devin Espana and Luca Jean also scored.

St. Joseph’s Prep 2 Jesuit Dallas 1—Cole Gargon and Adam Charaffi scored first-half goals as the Hawks (9-4) prevailed over Jesuit Dallas Sunday night at the Purple Puck Tournament. Michael Garr made 18 saves in goal.

Purple Puck Tournament-Prep Division
Hun School 5 Jesuit Dallas 2—Three goals in the final 9:39 of regulation gave the Raiders the win in the opening round of the National Capital Tournament in suburban Washington, D.C. Saturday evening.
Zachary Vallee broke a 2-2 tie with 9:39 left in the 25-minute second half. Dylan Kochenour followed with a goal with 2:47 left and Andrew Darst added an empty-net goal.
Justin Bibeau and Anders Van Raalte scored for the Raiders (5-3) in the first half.
St. Joseph’s Prep 6 Archbishop Spalding 0—Cole Gargon scored twice in the second half as the Hawks opened play at the National Capital tournament Saturday afternoon.
Vincent Burnett, Michael Catelli, Aiden Quinn, and Ben Kersun also scored for the Hawks. Declan Geary got the shutout in goal.
