Plymouth Whitemarsh 7 Hatboro-Horsham 4

Plymouth Whitemarsh scored three goals in two-minute span of the third period and went on to a 7-4 win Wednesday night in a SHSHL American Division matchup at Hatfield Ice.

The win moved the Colonials (13-2 overall and in divisional play {52 points}) back into first place in the division standings heading into the final week of the regular season. The regular-season champion will receive a bye into the division championship game. The Hatters dropped to 12-3 for 49 points in divisional play and 14-3 overall.

The game was tied 4-4 when Daniel Guller put the Colonials in front with 5:26 left in regulation. It was Guller’s third goal of the game. He followed with his fourth with 3:58 remaining and Dan Moloney extended the Plymouth Whitemarsh lead 32 seconds after that.

Guller’s first two goals came in the second period and helped Plymouth Whitemarsh to a 4-1 lead before the Hatters got goals from Nathan Nemchinov and Vincent Graziani to make it a one-goal game before the second period ended,

Nemchinov tied the game 14 seconds into the third period but the Hatters, who had just eight skaters available, would not score again.

“The team knew the importance of the {game} and fought extremely hard,” aid Hatboro-Horsham coach Shane Smith. I am really proud of them.”

In addition to Guller’s four goals, Cooper Kanzee provided the Colonials with four assists. Nemchinov and Graziani each scored twice for the Hatters.

Hatboro-Horsham will conclude its regular season next Wednesday against Abington. Plymouth Whitemarsh finishes against Wissahickon next Thursday.
